The Prevention Facilitator increases awareness and prevention of FASD in South East Alberta. Through various presentation, workshops, training opportunities, conversations and the use of social media engaging health and social service providers, women and gender diverse people 18-45 years old, and their partners, and community individuals, the Prevention Facilitator increases FASD awareness and prevention across the region.

It’s time to talk about alcohol and pregnancy
Through gentle conversation, women, and gender diverse people, between the ages of 18-45, and their partners, are informed of the risks of drinking during pregnancy. This training program supports two components:
- Raising public awareness of the risks of drinking during pregnancy.
- This train-the-trainer model equips and supports primary care providers with tools and techniques designed to engage people in non-judgmental, empathetic conversation about alcohol use during pregnancy.
